Tzetieren, Mustefelis meles is an Ultra Beast that's found on Zilraicarro. It is commonly used as a starter Pokémon on the planet. It is the only species in the family Mustefelidae. It is a Psychic/Fire-type.

Other names[edit]

It is also known as Xeccuds in the Veigzix language or UB: Teleport by the humans that briefly lived on the planet.

Etymology[edit]

It got its name UB: Teleport because of its ability to teleport short distances. Xeccuds is Veigzix for "teleport."

english name

Tzetieren is derivered from German Katze 'cat', and Teleportieren 'teleport' also incorporates the word from Tiere 'animals'

scientific name

Mustefelis is derived from from Latin Mustela 'weasel', and Felis 'cat'

Description[edit]

Tzieren are mainly black-and-white in colour, with the black sometimes looking midnight in colour, with grey socks around their paws; they have thick, light blue fur around the nape of their neck and have beautiful, light blue markings around their eyes, in which no two are the same. They also have beautiful, light blue comet-shaped markings along their flanks and their tails are often tipped in a light blue flame, which they can control the amount of fire coming out of their tail. Their skin underneath their fur is blue-grey. They have short bodies with long legs, long ears, with short muzzles and short tails. They have long canine teeth and a wide jaw angle to compensate for their long teeth, and are able to open their jaws to an angle of 95°.

Not unlike the Veigzix people, their blood is a mix of cobalt, boron, fluorine, neon and helium, hence their bluish-grey skin, not only from the lack of sunlight. They evolved this to compensate for the higher gravity of the planet.

Like Earth mammals, underneath their tails, males have a penis housed in a sheath and a pair of testicles housed in a scrotum, like other carnivoran mammals, while females have a vulva and vagina. Both sexes have an anus. However, without looking underneath their tails, males tend to be larger than females, with thicker necks and tails and longer canine teeth. Males tend to stand at 2 ft 8 in (0.81 m) while females may stand at 2 ft 3 in (0.69 m).

Its comet-shaped markings on its flanks are capable of glowing from bioluminescence. The mechanism for this isn't known, but maybe related to it being part-Psychic, or it could be a bioluminescent bacterium similar, or closely related, to Aliivibrio fischeri (syn. Vibrio fischeri).

Similar species[edit]

It is closely related to Liepard and Galarian Linoone as a result of convergent evolution.

It does not have an AWUverse equivalent, but the Fossa, European Badger, Bobcat and Caracal are all close enough to Tzetieren.

Behaviour[edit]

Tzetieren can teleport a short distance, which the Veigzix used to their advantage, for delivering notes to other people. Tzetieren are typically solitary, but will pair up and stay with one mate until one of them dies, making them monogamous. They have long, sharp claws that allow them to climb trees and rocks.

Diet[edit]

Tzetieren is mainly omnivorous, but will mostly eat meat.

Calls[edit]

Not unlike Liepard, Tzetieren can growl, hiss, meow, spit, purr and snarl.

Reproduction[edit]

Like most carnivoran mammals, they reproduce sexually. The females have an estrous cycle of only a few weeks twice a year, but sometimes is greatly protracted. Not unlike felids, males have a barbed penis which helps stimulate the female to ovulate.

Distribution/habitat[edit]

Most Tzetieren prefers to be in the company of the Veigzix people and is often found around Ultra Megalopolis. More feral Tzetieren are found around the Ultra Jungle, Ultra Desert and Ultra Forest.
